Airfoils are essential for unpowered gliders to achieve forward motion. Unlike paper airplanes that are thrown forward, powered airplanes cannot rely on manual force. To solve this challenge, engines and propellers were developed, allowing full-sized airplanes to travel consistently and cover long distances. Airfoils form the foundation of these aircraft designs, enabling them to gracefully defy gravity and soar through the skies.
